Dr. Shahid Lateef D.C.

Dr. Lateef graduated in 2007 from Southern California University of Health Sciences. He was honored with the E. Maylon Drake Humanitarian award for starting a very successful club on campus called Healing Hands for Humanity. The H3 club provided chiropractic, acupuncture, and medical massage therapy to people in underserved communities locally and around the world.

Dr. Lateef continued his postgraduate education for an additional three years and specialized in chiropractic sports medicine. Certified by the only sports medicine organization recognized by the American Chiropractic Association, Dr. Lateef obtained both his Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and Diplomate by the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians.

To provide tip of the arrow quality care to his patients, he maintains his certifications annually by traveling to medical conferences all across the USA to remain abreast of the latest research and treatment innovations through continuing education and field experience.

For over a decade now, Dr. Lateef has volunteered his services at home varsity football games at the request of other doctors, coaches, athletic directors, and trainers for several high schools including South Hills, Northview and West Covina. He is currently the team doctor for West Covina High School. As a sports medicine chiropractor he is qualified to manage the concussed individual in any patient population. The prerequisite management skills for a concussed athlete was further enhanced by additional education such as the ACBSP™ Concussion Registry Course (ACR-Course). He is listed on the ACBSP™ Concussion Registry Directory (ACR) as a qualified healthcare provider to diagnose and manage concussion and/or make return-to-play decisions.

Dr. Lateef is also Webster Certified by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of SI joint dysfunction. In doing so, neuro-biomechanical function in the pelvis is facilitated. The Webster Technique has become a familiar term in the pregnancy and birth conversation. Families are seeking out chiropractors who are proficient in this technique as a way to support a more comfortable, safer, and easier birth. Earning my certification in the Webster Technique can help make a difference in the pregnancy and birth of my patients by optimizing normal physiological function.
